Neue Heimat Exchange: Conversation and Introduction of the Indonesian Artist Uji Handoko Eko Saputro at the Kunsthaus Dresden
Neue Heimat Exchange (new home exchange) will be a central building block in the application for the European Capital of Culture 2025. Artists from non-western countries are invited to residencies in Dresden. Uji Handoko Eko Saputro from Yogyakarta (Indonesia) begins by tracing the journey of Raden Saleh, the father of modern Indonesian painting, who lived and worked in Dresden for almost a decade in the nineteenth century.
