Utopias are the blueprints for imaginary spaces in time; the mythical golden age or a bright future. This project explores these concepts within a real-life framework. Historical voices will recall the rise of the city and Tiergarten district, its brief heyday and eventual (self-)destruction. “What It Was and Will Be” mixes the prominent voices of yesteryear with the hopes and dreams of today’s people on Berlin’s streets and squares. Surrounded by cultural institutions, the Kulturforum brings a utopian space to life.<\/p>\n
