“The Chinese Lives of Uli Sigg” – Festival premiere in Locarno
On the 8th of August, “The Chinese Lives of Uli Sigg” was presented at the Festival del film Locarno.
Subsequently Cineuropa magazine published a film review by Muriel Del Don. According to Del Don the interaction of “intimacy” and “delicate iciness” becomes the central approach to portray Uli Sigg. His interest in Chinese culture seems to be defined by this dichotomy, as professional and personal relationships offered him the access to a “culture that had to hide to survive”.
