Reader accompanying the CAS Contemporary Chinese Art I / Executive Education on Global Culture
The reader which accompanies ZHdK’s new adavanced education programme for curators and cultural workers, Contemporary Chinese Art I / Executive Education on Global Culture, is available for download now.
The handbook, conceived by Franz Kraehenbuehl, Barbara Preisig and Michael Schindhelm comprises three main sections: Firstly, six essays written by Kraehenbuehl and Preisig shed light on the history of the Chinese Contemporary Art Award (CCAA). Secondly, the reader provides an overview of the networks surrounding the Sigg Collection, a collection of contemporary Chinese Art compiled by Swiss collector Uli Sigg. Finally, in a series of eleven interviews, artists and officials talk about the development of Contemporary Chinese Art.
A commented bibliography, a number of selected texts and the biographies of the course’s speakers facilitate the reading.
