Second Module of the CAS Contemporary Chinese Art I
From May 30th to June 1st, the second module of the CAS Contemporary Chinese Art I / Executive Education on Global Culture will take place in Zurich, Mauensee and in the art deposit at Bueron.
May 30th
The module will begin with a lecture by Annette Schoenholzer who was co-director to Art Basel for twelve years. Now she works as a consultant to the art fair. Following a presentation by Desmond Hui, director of the Center for Cultural Policy Research in Hong Kong, each student will be given time to work on the individual thesis – assisted by Annette Schoenholzer, Desmond Hui, Michael Schindhelm, Barbara Preisig and Franz Kraehenbuehl.
May 31st
Following a presentation and discussion of the students’ work, Pi Li, former director of the Chinese Contempoary Art Award (CCAA) and senior curator of the Sigg Collection M+, will give a lecture.
June 1st
On Monday, we will visit the Sigg Collection, which can be considered the most important collection on contemporary Chinese art. Here, art collector Uli Sigg, former entrepreneur and diplomat, will give a tour through both Schloss Mauensee and the art deposit at Bueron.
