ZHdK Lectures on Global Culture featuring Uli Sigg
On June 1st, Uli Sigg – entrepreneur, diplomat and art collector – will give a lecture at ZHdK. Not only that Sigg founded the first joint venture between the People’s Republic of China and a Western company; furthermore he served as Swiss ambassador in Beijing from 1995 to 1998. An acknowledged expert on China, Sigg enjoys a particular reputation as a collector of Chinese contemporary art.
The collector, who compiled one of the most important collections on Chinese contemporary art, will talk about his cooperation with M+, Asia’s first museum for visual culture and with some of the most important Western museums. He will focus on the public presentation of the collection in the form of reference exhibitions, which will take place before the opening of M+’s new Hong Kong building (scheduled for 2019).
