The film tells a cinematic untold story about Bali, the island’s rise to become a global tourism paradise and the desperate efforts of its inhabitants to preserve their culture. Ninety-eight years after the painter Walter Spies first visited the island of Bali, his spirit returns to the island. However, Spies also brought tourism and modernity to the island. The film tells a cinematic untold story about Bali, its rise to become a global tourism paradise, and the desperate efforts of its people to preserve their cultural identity amid the furore of globalisation.
