Weekend Specials at the Arsenale di Venezia
FRIDAY IN VENICE – at the Arsenale di Venezia, more precisely! From August 1 – 17, the Architectural Biennale Venice hosted the interactive project FRIDAY IN VENICE which sparked a series of passionate talks and debates on our future. 25 discussions and talks focused on macro scale visions, such as the common “European project” and small scale initiatives, like “Poveglia per Tutti”: The Venetian group of activists struggles to make Poveglia, a lagoon island, open to the public. Both, daily politics and utopian narratives such as Lavapolis, were discussed from the same perspective: Which kind of future can we imagine? Which kind of future do we regard as desirable?
Following the shows in August, a multimedia installation will be on display at the Arsenale (hall E) until November, 23.
