ZHdK Lectures on Global Culture: What can we learn from smart inner cities?

In this issue of the ZHdK Lectures on Global Cultures, Priya Prakash, founder of the studio Design For Social Change, talks about the lessons taught by the inner cities of Mumbai, Rio, London and Nairobi: What can we learn from these metropolitan cities, what do they tell us about sustainable modes of working and living, about infrastructure and social coexistence?

Priya Prakash worked for renowned employers such as BBC and Nokia, gathering experience both in leadership and strategic design, before founding D4SC (Design for Social Change). Together with its political and economical partners, D4SC is striving to boost local economies. Hereby, innovation and improvistaion play the most crucial role in tapping neglected potentials. For example, D4SC developed “Changify”, a “neighbourhood funding platform”, run by the community.
