This website documents an essential part of my work since the 1990s in various nations and contexts as a director of theatre and opera, a cultural advisor, filmmaker, writer and curator.
The website forges connections between seemingly unrelated topics and spaces. It ranges, for example, from the life of a student in the Soviet Union of the 1980s to a social experiment on a fictitious island; from the the invention of the first vaccine against Covid-19 to the gold rush in Dubai; from overtone singing in Mongolia’s Gobi Desert to a ghostly interlude in the reality of North Korea.
The website presents the work in three categories of time. They are embodied in the
