Michael Schindhelm | “FLAGS, RATTLING” – ESSAY FOR TAGESSPIEGEL BERLIN NEWSPAPER, ON THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FALL OF THE BERLIN WALL

“Flags, rattling” – Essay for Tagesspiegel Berlin newspaper, on the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall

“The fall of 1989 appears grey and pale in light of current politics. Remembrance routines unbelievably mask the ongoing depression. Therefore, I don’t share the depression which hangs over our memories like a dark cloud nor the indifference towards these disappearing memories.”
