Bid(s) for Survival: Exhibition project for Basel (Switzermand) in two parts

At the invitation of the Basel H. Geiger Cultural Foundation (KBH.G), we will develop a double exhibition in the spring and fall of 2024, which will take place both in the Foundation’s exhibition spaces and in collaboration with a number of institutions in Basel and elsewhere. An online presence is also planned. Preparations for the project began several months ago.
Michael Schindhelm was director of Theater Basel from 1996 to 2006. With this project, he returns to the city. Recent confrontations with the pandemic (see the film and exhibition about the development of the first vaccine against Sars-Cov-2, the project BioNTech) as well as with cultural globalization (see the biohgraphy about the German artist Walter Spies in Bali) offer the starting point for an immersive journey between past and future, virtual and real space.
The project will involve artists and institutional partners whose specific participation will be announced at a later date.
